JackRabbit Slims Band
About The Business
JackRabbit Slims, a name taken from a restaurant in the dance contest scene from Pulp Fiction, is a rock, R&B and dance band. Based on the North Shore of Boston its members include Greg Hoyt and Carolyn Crowley (lead vocals), Chris Bednar (bass guitar, keyboards & vocals) Jim Stavropoulos (guitar & vocals), Dave Pashayan (guitar, bass & vocals) and Phil Dussault (drums). The band’s early classic rock, blues and R&B style of music found them immediate success in 2001 playing the local club scene around the North Shore. Songs performed by the band have shown a variety of influences, and as such the band is considered to transcend the genre barrier. Playing a broad mix of music from Aerosmith, Foo Fighters and Led Zeppelin to Janis Joplin, Joss Stone and K.C. and the Sunshine Band drove the band to popularity being invited to play local music festivals, private parties, corporate functions in addition to the ski circuit in New England.
The band’s sound is considered a blending of hard rock, R&B and dance party music from the 70s to today. The two guitar tandem combined with keyboards and vocal harmonies allows JackRabbit Slims to stretch the boundaries of a general business cover band. After playing the bar and club circuit for over ten years they’ve become a “Not Your Average” wedding and function band playing the same diverse set list of music that crowds love to dance to and guys like to listen to while watching the girls dance.
